Scripting, Analyzing, and Mapping

Hi there,

This is my lovely first post and have been meaning to start a blog for a while now. Well I am a student at Westwood College Online, yes the commercials you see on G4tv all the time. I have been attending since May '06 and am loving every minute of it. As of right now I am take only to courses which are UNIX operating systems and Game Analyses and Playability. It is definitely weird since my UNIX class is 9 credits and the homework is pretty simple and the Game A & P class is only 3 credits and the instructor gives major homework. He gives two assignments (usually shorter), an individual 2-4 page analyses paper, and a team project. I am the leader of my team and in turn have the great responsibility of making sure everyone else does their part, yaaa go me ;\ . We are supposed to have six in our group where we only have three, but I guess that makes for less tracking down when it comes time for meetings. Anyway I have been doing reasonably well with my time management of the classes and am trying out different study/reading methods. We are starting to go over programming so my attention is finally focused since that is what I enjoy the most about the curriculum.

So ya, when I get some free time I like to work on maps for Counter-Strike: Source. I know this will help with me level and gameplay design later when I need it to make my own game or input ideas into a game. I can't wait to be knowledgeable enough to collaborate with people over the internet to work on an indie project. For now I will continue to build maps for CS: Source and learn the new Hammer editor. Valve is a great company that allows for easy customization for their games which is a great learning tool for aspiring developers.

Well that's it for now! Hope I didn't get off track to much, well I guess that is what a blog is for ehh? Peace out!
